This closed helmet is a bit unique in that it does not have a comb. Over many years of working armour it has come to my attention that some people really dislike the comb at the top of a helmet, so I created this version which is loosely based on an Italian 16c helmet.
 
Hand made from 18g mild steel this combless version follows the clean lines of period examples without the prominent crest seen on other designs. It features a lifting pin, kickstand, and spring latch to keep the breaths locked in position. The result is a practical and versatile helmet suited to a wide range of mid to late 16th century kits.
