These cuisses are inspired by the elegant leg armour associated with early 16th-century Italian Renaissance harnesses. The Dos Aguas style is recognized for its refined shaping, balanced proportions, and the craftsmanship characteristic of the finest European plate armour produced during the Renaissance period.

Developed during a time when armour became both a functional defence and a display of wealth and craftsmanship, these cuisses feature the sculpted forms and articulated construction typical of high-quality 16th-century harnesses. Of note are the upper lames which collapse to give a more comfortable wearing experience when sitting or mounting.

This reproduction is handcrafted from 20-gauge mild steel, capturing the distinctive form and construction of early 16th-century Renaissance leg armour. It is suitable for living history, display, and collectors seeking historically inspired armour.
