These munition grade arms are based off of an original set of Almain Splint Arms from 1510 Nuremberg. These would not have been used by the nobles but by the rank and file who were just happy to have any armour at all. The slot in the vambrace allows for the hand portion to move up and down allowing for some adjustability to suit the wide array of men in the army. The keyed twist pin allows for the hand portion to be removed from the vambrace if desired and reattached easily in the same fashion. They are very flexible and light providing a great low cost alternative for the common man.
This reproduction is handcrafted from 18-gauge mild steel, capturing the distinctive construction and appearance of early 16th-century splinted arm armour. It is suitable for living history, display, and collectors seeking historically inspired armour.
