The Chapel De Fer also know as a Kettle Hat, Iron Har, or War Hat is an early helmet worn in the 12th Century. These helmets would have been seen on the lower class warriors in the period and often depictions of archers and crossbowmen can be seen wearing this type of helmet which provides great field of vision.
