This helmet is based on a statue of Robert the Bruce located in Bannockburn, Scotland. This bascinet follows the simple and practical lines seen in early 14th century armour.

Hand made from 18 gauge mild steel it provides a solid foundation for a historically inspired outfit or display piece. The shape is based on the statue and also original bascinet examples with special attention paid to maintaining the character of the piece rather than adding to it.
