This Roman Helmet is based on the famous helmet fragments discovered at Burgh Castle Roman Fort (Gariannonum) in Norfolk, England. Dating to the 4th century AD, the original helmet was recovered during excavations at one of Britain's Saxon Shore forts and is regarded as one of the most significant Late Roman helmet finds in Britain. Although the surviving remains are fragmentary, archaeological study has allowed for a faithful reconstruction of its distinctive ridge helmet design.
 
This style of helmet would have been worn by Roman soldiers serving on the Empire's northern frontier during a period of increasing coastal raids and frontier defense.
